Hi, everyone. I drive a 1998 civic lx (1.6). For a long time, I've wanted to put a pc and touchscreen in my car, and I didn't want a flimsy fold out one, or pre-packaged head unit with screen. Being a software engineer, I want to develop my own system to be used on-screen. And just to be clear, I do have a low 4 digit budget on this. I'm 100% certain I can get all the parts I need for that price, and having a background in Electric Engineering, I will be doing all of the work, as well.

So far, the biggest kink in this whole thing has been where to put the screen. My dash has the single-din setup with the climate control beneath the head unit. I've looked into the possibilities of managing the climate control from the computer, and have even found a pretty cool interface but I really don't want to do that.

However, my friend just bought a 2000 civic with quite an interesting climate control dash area. My question is, will this climate control connect with my car with no problems, and operate my climate control? If so, I know where the screen is going, and I'll be purchasing my parts very soon. The outer dimensions seem to be the same (having done no measuring). I'm just concerned with the electrical connections.

ive looked into it and u have to change the heater core and stuff too. doesn't just plug and play.

with the 99-00 models the ***** r more electronics
where the earlier models u have cable lines going through it
its a double din you should fit just fine
