2000 Honda Civic - Removal of Rubber Bumper
I am in the process of purchasing a 2000 Honda Civic EX and need a bit of help. I love the car and the low miles but I just cannot get past one minor thing: the previous owners placed these rubber bumpers onto the car. Here it is:
2000 Honda Civic EX
Minor to say the least, it is still an eye sore to me and was wondering if anyone knew anything about them. The dealer states that it is held on by adhesive, not screws. If you do know what they are, does the Manufacture sell some sort of liquid removal?
Any help would be much appreciated! I realize I'm new to the boards so I hope it's OK to be asking about this!

WTF are those!
They look like they came off a bumper car!
Anyway, before you attempt to remove those things with a solvent I'd attempt to remove them with fishing line and a heat gun. Just slowly heat up the thing, and then slide a piece of fishing line behind and slowly work your way around. If you succeed without damaging the paint congrats, but depending on the glue they use I doubt its possible.

with rubber stuff like that, is when its on ur car for a long period of time, it may stick so well to the paint that when you try to remove it, it will take some paint with you. its 10 year old paint u know...
if u manage to take off the rubber without chipping any paint and if there are adhesive residue on ur bumper, u could use googone to take it off. usually works well. u can find googone anywhere from walmart to autozone.

Nice, makes it look aggressive!
...Or rugged....
Or maybe something else... >.<
Yeah, like the other two said, having it come off will be hard not to take some paint off it.
Best bet:
Set it aside in a cool place, use bottle of googone, soak it abundantly, let it sit for about 10~15 mins.
Grab a thick fishing line, maybe 20 lbs+
Slide it under a corner, and start sawing it off
Remove excess residue with towel, googone, and some elbow grease
That will be the best method not to chip any paint pulling it out
