3 engine in my hands, really confused

3 engine in my hands, really confused hi, i just brought a d16y7+tranny plus a d15a1 with a s40 tranny(i think).
I actually dont know anything about them.
i really need one of them to start ASAP.
I will be pulling my current d16y7 from the car BECAUSE the rack n pinion is dead so i need to pull everything out anyway. I trust my curreent y7 but now that i have 2 other spare motor I want to know whats my best move.
I heard here and there on forums that all parts of D-series are interchangeables. ?!? So.... the engine rebuild kit for the y7 is 500$ on ebay.
I cant actually find anything about the d15a1 but found a rebuild kit for a d15b2 for around 300$ offering the same thing as the d16y7 kit.
Can I buy the d15b2 rebuild kit TO FIT EITHER the d16y7 or d15a1 motor like a glove? ugh... lol
