Re: slips outof gear

Could be a engine or tranny mount.

Re: slips outof gear

I have had the same problem. first time it happened in 3rd gear and never again and the last couple of times it has happened it popped out of 4th gear.. I was told this was a syncing issue and the tranny would need to be rebuilt or to purchase a new one.

Any suggestions? I hope im not thread jacking..?

Well... A new one is $2000 plus $500-$1000 labor, rebuild is $2500-$3000, or you could get a salvage one (with good miles) for about $400-$600 plus $500-$1000 labor.

Re: slips outof gear

Look at the mounts first. What can happen is if the mount is broken the engine and tranny can flex enough to pull the shift linkage and yank it out of gear. It's a pretty easy fix if that's the problem.

That points towards a mount.
