Cylinder boring/head port and polish
I am thinking of having my 1.6L D16Y8 bored out to 1.8L and going with forged internals. Do yall think I would have problems with it overheating? I was also thinking of porting and polishing the head. Would it be easier to get a high performance head and if so where should I look to get one? The reason I was thinking of going with forged internals is because I am thinking of using NOS.
Re: Cylinder boring/head port and polish
Probably don't need forged unless you are using alot of NOS. Porting and polishing doesn't do a whole lot to a modern 16valve 4 banger, some times it can make flow worse. I would get a Nitrous cam, springs and retainers. Forged internals will not hurt if you are putting the extra stress on the engine. I would also get ARP hardware (head studs especially).

Re: Cylinder boring/head port and polish
I didn't finish that build. I am scrapping the D16y8 and building a B17a1 from the ground up. I want a NA build so I will be using type R Pistons and Rods with some really agressive cams. I may get VTEC killer cams....haven't decided on that one yet. I just need to figure out what kind of programmer I wanna go with. It's OBD 1 so I know I will need a jumper harness but it will be easier to tune.
