Stock Air intake question

I recently removed a ram air intake (on it when I bought the car) from my 1998 ex to reinstall the factory style intake. There is an opening on the stock intake behind the O2 sensor (I think it's the O2 sensor). Does anyone know what it connects to? Also, do I keep the little air filter on the valve cover?

Thanks a lot for any help. I've searched everywhere for a picture showing what the stock intake should look like but I haven't found one matching my engine with stock air intake.

Re: Stock Air intake question

do not keep the little air filter. you should be able to connect that engine port to the stock intake with a hose.

Thanks Gearbox, I needed that picture. Great help. I assume I can buy that hose from a parts store. I can't tell what part# 26 is but hopefully Autozone will know. Thanks again.

Re: Stock Air intake question

Gearbox, where can I get the pic you sent me with the parts list for the numbers? I don't think I have the #11 box. I don't even see where it would go under the hood. I bought my stock intake on ebay and it came with everything else on the pic (except the hose you informed me about of course).

Y? Maybe the short ram wasn't my problem but my civic seems to run better with the stock intake.

26 looks like a bolt with washer. check www.hondaautomotiveparts.com for the diagrams and ordering parts. click on honda parts pic.

Re: Stock Air intake question

Gearbox, that link helped a lot. Thanks again.
I hooked up the breather tube today. I couldn't get the metal tube that comes off the air intake assembly but I came up with a plastic fitting that let me build my own breather tube. I could be making this up in my own mind--but I think the car drives a little better now. Thanks again. God bless.
