Brake pedal sinks to floor?

Hey everyone i just recently install a Wilwood 6 piston front and 1 piston rear with parking brake big brake system... with my stock system i ran the master cylinder dry so i replaced that as well... now ive bled the brakes twice all fluid was out then i replaced the master, bench bled it, then bled the brakes again and got air out of the passanger front caliper only... and yet the pedal still sinks to the flood when i press on it... if i pump the brakes 3 to 4 times and hold it down it holds enough pressure to keep it from goin to the floor but as soon as i release the pressure and go to step on the pedal again it just sinks to the floor... does anyone have suggestions as to what the problem could be would be very appreciated thanks

Re: Brake pedal sinks to floor?

Sounds like you still got air in the line. Bleeding the brakes is never easy, sometimes it is done just like that and sometimes it takes a while. If you can pump it a couple of times and get pressure and start braking then the brake master cylinder is still good you just have air in the line. Bleed it again or just drive it for a little a just keep pumping that brake sometimes the air will come out while driving.

Re: Brake pedal sinks to floor?

well i have done it 3 times already and it was just fluid on 3 of the calipers the last time only 1 had a little air in it... could it be possible that airs stuck somewhere farther back in the system and is there different ways i can bleed it? i dont really want to take it for a test drive until i get the brake pedal firm i mean after all i just dumped 3500 into it with the brakes a new clutch and polyurethane bushings all installed at once... could there just be air maybe in the proportioning valve or somewhere along those lines?

Sometimes it takes more to bleed them correctly. And yes there still could be a little air in the line somewhere.

Re: Brake pedal sinks to floor?

so to get that out would i just bleed it like normal until eventually i see air again? :s or is there some type of vacuum bleeder that i can use?

Re: Brake pedal sinks to floor?

One easy way to see if there is air in the line when bleeding it is get a clear tube that will fit on the bleeder valve and have someone hit the brake and just watch it and see if there is any little bubbles in the tube if so keep doing it till there is no more air. And yes just bleed them normally.

Re: Brake pedal sinks to floor?

yea thats what ive done is gotten a clear tube that runs into a little bottle and like i said the 3 calipers had no air the last time i bled them but the one passanger front had a little and when i was done it was pumping straight fluid like the other 3 im stuck and really hoping i dont need an oversized master cylinder with a bigger flow

Re: Brake pedal sinks to floor?

Hmm if there is no air then I dunno what to tell you. You might need a bigger brake master cylinder cause there is more pistons than oem but I dunno. Dont know to much bout the big brake kits.

Re: Brake pedal sinks to floor?

the one you have now is prolly not able to put enough pressure on the caliper to squeeze it. you need a larger bore master cylinder with most big brake kits.

You need to bleed them but it's kinda hard.
