Securing license plate bottom....
Securing license plate bottom....
Hey guys,
I just got a 12" sub. I'm really enjoying my Civic now, don't know what I did before without it.
Now I've got a small problem. My license plate neon doesn't like my sub... It rattles in time with the beat; that's not exactly the effect I wanted.
I have found that if i firmly hold the bottom of the license plate neon (where there are the two unused screw holes) the rattling almost disappears.
I am now convinced that if I find a way to firmly secure the bottom of the plate and neon, the rattling would stop.
Do you guys have any ideas on how to achieve this?
(And, no, I'm not getting rid of my neon
so other suggestions please
)

I put some rubber foam weather stripping I bought from home depot on the back of my license plate to ensure it doesn't vibrate against my trunk
I don't remember what thickness I used, but this is the stuff

yeah get the "mounting tape" with red backing. 3m and scotch make it in various sizes. its strong enough to hold a lip spoiler on provided you clean both sides with alcohol first and press the two sides together firmly. let it cure 24 hrs before getting wet. it will prolly hold it forever.
