D16Y7 block with D15Z1 head?

I've hot an HX that the previous owner put a D16Y7 in. Didnt swap the computer, oxy sensor or anything else. Now im looking around to see if anyone has done a mini me for economy. The compression from a D16Y7 is 9.4:1 right, can I slap a VX head on it and reconnect the 2 Vtec plugs on the harness?
