Gutted vs non gutted
How do you feel about gutting your car? To me if you don't need something take it out. Who cares how it looks. Its your car do what you want. I took everything i can do without out of my car. Have any of yall noticed a difference when you gutted your car?

i try and keep heavy parts out of there if i can. but yeah ive removed random stuff i never need or that caused issues. it all adds up and depends what youre comfortable with. ive removed washer fluid tank and motor, moonroof visor and plastic trims, rear seat lock and belt, trunk lock, exhaust heatshields, spare tire and tools, floor mats, lighter rims, etc. but i also added some weight so not sure how it stands now. i have heavy exhaust, audio amp, and lip kit.

well fixaflat makes a mess if it explodes in the trunk, and it also will ruin the rim of the tire you spray it in. i wouldnt bother. just get some AAA service or see if your insurance has free roadside assistance. its easier to just tow the car and worry about fixing the tire later. or taking it somewhere for a repair. my view on spares is, you cant drive on the freeway anyway because it will tear apart at high speeds. also if the tire is older than 6 yrs, it is unsafe to use on the road due to the rubber drying and becoming brittle. so a 6 yr old spare tire is useless anyway, why carry it around for no reason.

I don't understand why a daily driver has to be stripped. I can understand taking **** out because your going to the track or something, but as far as getting groceries or going to a friends house why gut the car? I understand weight savings and everything but how much are you really saving in the end???
Re: Gutted vs non gutted
Removing any weight is better then nothing. And if its a older civic and you dont need stuff in there why keep it? if you drop 100 lbs of junk and then start adding power you will have a better power to weight ratio. Thats my opinion
Re: Gutted vs non gutted
Junk yes, but when your car starts to look dilapidated and is uncomfortable because you took important crap out is where I draw the line. Like removing the glove box and that kind of stuff. I just don't understand, its a civic, not a race car. Who are you racing anyway that you need this power?
Re: Gutted vs non gutted
I just race anyone who pulls up to me and wants to race. Most people around my town run v6 camaros. Or put these pig *** body kits and wings that weight alot so pretty much there all heavy and slow
Re: Gutted vs non gutted
So you street race? That's just stupid. A good way to kill yourself and lose your license. If your gutting your car to street race that's even stupider.

What happens if someone wants to race you, then 35mph into the race, they brake real hard, pull behind you, and flash red and blue lights at you?
Re: Gutted vs non gutted
I think gutting your car is a complete waste of time and it makes the car look stupid to. I mean come on you are removing only about 50 lbs that is not going to make a difference at all. And street racing is stupid to, most people on here will tell you that it is stupid. It makes everyone elses lives at risk including yours.
