intake help

hello i have a quick question and hope some of you could help me out. i just got a sri from a friend of mine and i was putting it on my 2000 honda civic ex. now i removed the stock air box and everything that went with it. when i put the intake on and attached everything i ran into a problem. on the intake itself there was only the plug and one connector for a hose but on the old air box there was the plug and 2 hoses connected. so i have 2 hoses and only one connector on the intake. one of the hoses comes from the top of the engine block and the other comes from what looks like the exhaust manifold. which one do i plug in and what do i do with the other one?? any help would be great. thanks.

Re: intake help

either you got the wrong intake, or you got a cheap intake that wasnt made for your car. intakes are not universal and each car has its own shape and sensor holes.

Re: intake help

HAHAHA i just had the same problem, i got my injen sri from my friends 00 si and i have an 00 ex. Its a easy fit that will cost you about 10 bucks, go to autozone or any car store and get yourself a 10 mm T cooper connector, what it basically will do is allow you to have 2 connections for both hoses. Also need to buy sum hose clamps, extra 10 mm hose (just in case). Then after removing everything that is stock, attached the the sri intake and connect the hose to the only connection the sri has, then use the T connector and connected to the house and put a clamp so you make sure no air is leaking, then you will have to extra connections which you can connect to the intake mani and the other one. This is what i did and everything worked great and was an easy and cheap fix.
