front right speaker not working

i have 98 honda civic dx with aftermarket infinity speakers. i have 2 in the trunk and two in both front door panels. the speakers are all hooked up to my pioneer headunit. i am 99.9 percent sure that i hooked the wires up correctly. the right front speaker wires are gray and the negative wire is gray with a black line. the wires attached to the headunit are the same with a different shade of gray. when i turn the system on my front left and 2 back speakers work perfectly but no sound comes out of my right front speaker. i heard if it was blown out then it would make a weird sound but there is absolutely no sound or bass bumping at all. any1 know what to do? i think i have to take off the door panel and see if it the wires are firmly attached to the speaker itself but im not sure. any ideas?

Is the deck factory or aftermarket?

First off check the fader and balance on the deck.

Next take the speaker out and make sure one of the wires did not come off.

Then pull the speaker and look.

Also, slight chance the connection at the deck could be the problem too.

Re: front right speaker not working

Check all your connections first off make sure everything is wired up correct. My guess is it is if only one speaker is not working but I could be wrong. Next thing would be to take out the speaker and check that the connection there is all good if it is then take the speaker out of the other door or if you have another one lying around that you KNOW works hook it up and see if it works, if it does you know its your speaker. However if it doesn't then your wiring is a problem the only thing you can do from there is trace the wires back to the deck and see what is going on, be a huge pain in the a**.

Play it safe and try another speaker at that location.

Re: front right speaker not working

yes if a speaker is blown it will still have sound coming out of it and it will sound nasty BUT if you want to make sure that speaker is bad check the continuity of the speaker with a multimeter set the multimeter to ohms and put one lead to negative terminal of the speaker and the other lead on the positive terminal of the speaker and it should ring out or make a sound like a long beep until you take it off this allows you to know power is flowing and the speaker will work if it rings out if not then the circuit is open in the speaker but if it does ring out you have some kind of wiring problem then do as the other post says and take a working speaker and test it out on the side with the problem hope that helps
