here is the lowdown. yesterday my wifes civic drivers side door will not open from inside or outside. The power locks seems to be working, the little handle thingy will travel up and down when you press the switch. Any ideas? I'm guessing I will just have to rip off the inside panel which will be a pain since I cant open the door. Just wondering if anyone had ever had that problem and what the cure might be? When I tear off this door panel, is there a easy way to remove it?

1998 Honda Civic LX 5 spd sedan here, and my rear driver's side door wont open. The lock won't go up or down, and it will not open. Let me know if you get this...I don't really see a way to get the door panel off with the door closed unless you like to tear **** up

no answers...??? i've got a buddy that has some of those interior trim tools. i guess ill take it over to his shop and try and get the panel off and figger out what is broke. good luck with your rear door. have you tried a slim jim to unlock it?

Found this forum randomly searching for this problem in my sons 1998 civic. Did you get a fix for this other than the obvious ripping off the door panel? I know the actuator is not engaging the unlocking device somehow? I was wondering if there was a way to get the door open with a slim lime device at the latch?
