2000 SiR engine rebuild/upgrade?

It's about time to do an engine rebuild...(she's got 180k km on odometer now).

As I will be taking the engine apart (I'll do this with speedfactory racing), I'm thinking of some "upgrade" to bring the power up a bit. I'm aiming for ~185hp (like the output of JDM CTR), but I'm too new that I don't know what should be upgraded to achieve this (and too afraid to be ripped off by the shop if they figured out I'm a newbie).

My car is still bone stock except for a short shifter.

Any advice?

I'll also upgrade my suspension and maybe brake (brake lines to be precise). I want to keep my car look as stock as possible, and sound as stock as possible.

Thanks in advance

toda killer cams, forged pistons/rods, lightweight pulleys, take out your A/C if you don't mind just rollin your windows down, bore a little bit, throttle body spacer, upgrade fuel rail, upgrade injectors, good spark plugs and wires, polish as much of the internals as you can so you have better flow. thats what i can think of right now. hope it helped

First, why are you rebuilding? Is your compression down in one or two cylinders? Are you burning oil? I have 160,000 miles(not km's) on my b16a and after road course events all over country it doesn't burn any Mobil 1.

First, the CTR B16B has lighter valves so it can rev higher and more lift and duration cams. It also has much higher compression which will limit you to finding very high octane race gas for your car in North America. It also has larger intake manifold surge tank and primaries along with a larger throttle body...a 4-1 exhaust manifold etc. etc. etc.

If you truly want to upgrade, find an Integra Type R B18C5 and leave the internals stock and untouched...and have fun with it. In my many years I've realized one thing: Honda puts those engines together better than almost any rebuilder can do.
