Re: alternator?

First, replace or charge the battery. Was the engine recently worked on?

Next check the starter switch located at the top of the clutch pedal. If that's fine, check whether the starter gets battery voltage on both of its terminals. if so, the starter may be bad.

Re: alternator?

There is a good chance you have a bad battery, interesting that you could not jump it? If you can get it jumped, I would use a volt meter and test to see if you have 12.1 volts or so with the key on, and about about 14.1 volts running.

Re: alternator?

If you can do a load test on it that would be the way to go. Load test, then if battery is good test alt.

Are you the owner? Does it have a starter kill on it? have you turned off the alarm?

If you try to crank and no noise nothing, might be an alarm issue.
