Frustating!? Help Me Someone!

Does anybody have any recommendations about finding headers and exhaust systems that fit my HX 97?
I have spent countless hours searching for headers and exhaust that will suit my car and came up empty handed.
Help plz!

Re: Frustating!? Help Me Someone!

its tricky cause you have the weird exhaust setup with two cats. prolly gonna have to go custom made so you can keep the cats and just get a pipe made after the cat and a muffler on the end.

Or, you could do the EX exhaust swap (by relocating the O2 sensors). I helped a friend do that with my old OEM exhaust back in 98. Then you are free to a get headers/cat-back of your choice.

Re: Frustating!? Help Me Someone!

well the problem with that is the second cat is for nox emissions so you might not pass smog with only the ex cat and a lean burn motor. i could be wrong tho maybe it will still pass.

Re: Frustating!? Help Me Someone!

I've not emission tested one with the exhaust swap but it never had any CEL's. Plus, the HX we did the swap on only had the manifold mounted cat-no second one at all. Never heard of that.

Re: Frustating!? Help Me Someone!

ya you just need the ex header, downpipe, cat, and catback with muffler. and you can go aftermarket for the header and catback for ex. just make sure you get the parts for the ex model of your same year of civic. alot of parts are cheap on ebay or junkyards. and as mentioned already, extending the oxygen sensors down from the manifold to the bottom of the car where the new cat will be.
