Re: sup all...new to forum

errr thats not really that descriptive. the B18C5 is out of a DC2 (97 - 01 Integra) Type-R and has VTEC. It puts out 189 hp and 127 ft-lb. Its an expensive swap but if u have the money and want VTEC its worth it. i believe its the best swap without sacrificing any functionality. I believe the only better engine swap is the H22A1 out of a prelude. its a very tight fit in a civic and i believe that u have to sacrifice many of the accessories just to make it fit. again if u have the money and dont mind giving up some of the conviences of a daily driver then its worth it.

Re: sup all...new to forum

some googling turned this up:
GS-R - 10:1, Type-R 10.6:1

Type-R port and polished head,
Type-R has high flow single stage intake plenum,
Type-R has lighter rods,
Type-R has lighter dual valve springs, and valves
Type-R has more extreme cam profile, more lift and overlap.
Type-R has low-friction coating on pistons.
Type-R has removed quench pads in the head for greater flow.

Very very different engines. Allot of stuff went into sqeezing the last 25 HP from an already high performance engine. The B18C5 is more than an engine, it's a hand made work of art.
the transmission from the Type-R has the limited slip diff already

Re: sup all...new to forum

hence y i want one but they r so rare in good condition and are very expensive. its definitely worth every penny but i dont have like 5k - 6k to do all of that. the only problem is that since it is so perfect the only thing more u can do to it is to bore it out and changing the compression...eliminating the point of buying the engine in the first place

The Acura swap is described at http://www.diynetwork.com/diy/shows_..._40569,00.html

There is the option of getting all new parts as opposed to junk yard parts.
