99 EX, need to know?

I have a 5-spd Manual 99 EX civic with 150k+ on it. Smooth sailing so far.... This is my first Honda and I was wondering if there was anything I need to know or watch out for.

Re: 99 EX, need to know?

Nitro's advice would be the best thing to look into If you don't know when it was done it may need done... esp if there are any unusual noises coming from the timing belt area... another thing to watch out for is at about 170K the Catalytic converter will probably go bad, so if your engine check light comes on around there thats probably what it is... (I have a 2000 LX and the cat went out at about the usual time... 173k they are like $800 for the oem part from Honda... DONT get it... get a cheap aftermarket one... actually better than the one piece oem one... and You can get em anywhere from 175-350 (oxygen sensors are a good idea around that time too)

Hope this helps... =D

The O2 sensors usually go bad around 100k miles. You can get them at NAPA for about $90 or so. You'll know it's time when you get a CEL.
