gear selector hard after ATF flush
gear selector hard after ATF flush
Hello all,
I recently got my transmission fluid changed at a shop and since then, I am having problems to move the gear shifter from from P to R (all other gears changes work fine).
The other day, it went half way from R and P and stopped...had to put it back in in R and then into P.
Any ideas why this is happening?
Thanks in advance

Re: gear selector hard after ATF flush
Honda recommends a "drain and fill" only on a tranny. There is a drain plug on the bottom of the tranny. Use a 3/8" ratchet to remove it. 2.5 to 3 qts will drain out. Put the plug back in, and add 2.5-3 qts with a funnel in the dipstck hole. Start the car and run through all of the gears. Then drain again. Reinstall the plug and refill again. Start the car and shift through all the gears. Drain it once more and refill. Now you will be good for another 100k. USE HONDA ATF-Z1 OEM FLUID ONLY!!! It does run $6/qt, but if you use anything else you will have nothing but problems.
