Power window front pasenger side troubles.

The 96 Ex we have is having a problem with the front passenger window. It will go down at anytime, but up is either a no go or you have to wait 15-30 mins. to get it going again. If you let the car sit for awhile, it will usually go back up. Either hitting the Driver's door switch or passengers door switch.

Any help pinpointing the problem would be appreciated.
Thanks in Advance.

Re: Power window front pasenger side troubles.

To me, it doesn't sound like your driver or passenger switches are bad because if they were, your window wouldn't go back up period. If I were you, I would take the door panels off, and inspect the connector and socket terminals to be sure they are all making good contact. If any of those terminals are bent, loose, or corroded, that could be the problem...just fix the terminals. Another possible problem could be a poor ground. If one of the terminals or ground wires were loose, that could explain why hitting the switch will sometimes make it work again. Visually check the wires to make sure there aren't any openings that could cause shorts. While you're at it, check the power window relay, under-dash fuse/relay box, and under-hood fuse/relay box to make sure they have a good connection. I hope that helps you to pinpoint the problem a little bit. Let me know how it goes, because I plan on upgrading my buddy's dx crank windows to power windows and power locks in the near future using all oem parts.

Re: Power window front pasenger side troubles.

I checked the connections and they seem clean and good contacts. Iam starting to believe it's the window motor itself as that window seems slower and almost to a crawl compared to the other 3 windows. Just seems the motor is labouring.
