2000 civic si

ok so my friend got one of these recently. its stock and he just wants to do some mods.
anyways we all know bolt ons on the 7th gens D17 dont give you much gains. is this true for the 2000 si? what motor does it have is it the b16? thanks a bunch.

b16's been round for almost 20 years now!!!! there's 5 million parts for them!!! just depends on what he wants to do to it...

i would say that if he's not going to boost it, then get a new tranny!..that's the weak link for the em1's! the gears are too long...

the person above has no clue what he is talking about. the 99/00 Si has a first gear of 4:11 and the same final drive ratio as the ITR. The transmission is fine. Unless he wants to boost it, stick on nitrous, or play with some bad *** cams and head work, its best to just spend the money on suspension and tires. You arent going to see more then 15-18WHP out of an I/H/E combo on an otherwise stock B16A2.
