Difference between EX and LX exhaust-wise?

I have a question about the difference between exhaust systems for a 96-00 EX and an LX. I see everywhere that there is a difference between the two and parts aren't supposed to interchange, but what is the actual difference? Are all of the pipes different or is there just one? Also, will an axle-back system for an EX bolt on an LX or is there some type of modification I can do to make this work easily?

I think there's a difference in where the O2 sensor is.

Thanks. Are you talking about the O2 sensor that is in the exhaust manifold or is there another one back by the catalytic converter? I just need to know if the axle back will work. A guy wants to buy my old one for a 96-00 EX for his 00 LX.

The ex has the converter under the car and the LX has the converter on the manifold. This makes the EX have a header and the LX doesn't have one. The mid pipe (between cat and muffer) is a diffferent length because of where the coverter is located.

The EX piping will fit the LX if you have a test pipe for the converter.

I'm thinking of getting the Holly AirMass Header for my "NEUsed" 96 DX Hatch but the header box states "for 96-00 EX".
I believe I'll need a new High flow cat cause I don't think my DX cat will bolt to the tail of the headers.

My other question is, with that done: Will I also need an EX hatch cat back exhaust system or will my stock DX exhaust line up (for now).

Think it will work, any advice or suggestions?
