7th Gen Axle Job

Hey, I'm new here, please forgive me if I'm asking something really basic, but I need to replace my CV Axle on my 2005 Civic DX, automatic tran. I've found some how to videos but on one the guy said I need to "unstake" my axle nut. I couldn't really see what he was doing on the vid and have no idea what that means. Is this some kind of tab that keeps the axle nut from coming off?
Appreciate any guidance. Thanks
Mike

There's a slot in the end of the axle that you smack the axle nut into with a cold chisel. Use a flat head screwdriver to pry it out of that slot. You should see it and understand as soon as you pull the wheel off. If you have a powerful impact gun you could probably get away without doing it.
if you're using hand tools keep the wheel on and on the ground to loosen the axle nut. Or have someone stand on the brakes.

"unstake"
I made this "unstaking" tool from a basic 1/4" wide punch, by grinding the tip at a 45* angle.

Collin42, thanks. I figured it was something like that.
