transmission problem?

Hello everyone, I have 04 civic and this is my 3rd manual civic that I've owned this far.

the car runs perfectly fine, however im not sure if I have a transmission issue or not. when I put the car in gear and if I rest my arm on the stick it kinda feels like a small vibration happening, almost like grinding...would someone have similar experiences with their Hondas? Do you think its normal or is it a sign of a transmission issue?

the stick is very firm it doesn't vibrate or anyting I just feel it noisy (if that make sense) if I lean on it a little bit it.

Oh an it has 148,000 kms (92,000 miles) on the engine and everything else. Its DX model very basic, no options. Just AC and CD player.

hope to hear what you guys think,

thanks so much!

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

Re: transmission problem?

Sounds typical to me.

I once installed one of those light-up neon shofter ***** in my truck, that dang thing acted like a megaphone and you could hear everything going on inside the trans. Reinstalled the stock **** and everything was quiet again.

Re: transmission problem?

Hi, thanks for reply,

Yes may be you right. I was just worried, as I heard it could be transmission synchros?
But if I don't rest my hand on the top of the shifter there is no vibration, I just try to hold my both hands on the wheel now and only shift when I need to. Or I just put the hand a little lower on the bottom of the shifter and no vibration happening.

If it progresses and gets worse I probably take it in and check it out. LOL I just a worry too much, hopefully nothing serious.

Thanks!
