Re: 2005 civic Si after market parts?

what do you want to do? there's plenty out there if you have the cash to drop. I was turbo'd in my 2002 civic ex for a while, and right now, I'm about to drop a stage 1 cam in it.

The Canadian Si is the US ex, so try looking for parts for a 2001-2005 civic ex, also.

there's one place to start. Shipping prices suck though

Re: 2005 civic Si after market parts?

intake, header, full exhaust system, cam is just about most of it without going turbo, unless you go hardcore engine building

edit: however, just the bolt ons (intake, head, exhaust) alone won't do much. the D17 doesn't really respond much to those upgrades, except sound. What exhaust system you looking at, by the way?

can a D17 handle a turbo system without having beef up some internal parts?

Re: 2005 civic Si after market parts?

it can. From what I'm to understand, the stock block can handle something like 8psi, but you still need to supply ample fuel for that to work safely.

with enough work (and hella money.. haha), the D17 can be pretty badass. Again, that does require money though.

When I was boosted, I had a stock block and didn't use the best thing to tune it with, had a turbo that had something wrong with the wastegate actuator so it limited me to 2.5psi, but I still made something like 143WHP from a stock 110WHP

lets see if I can squeeze out something like that from the stage 1 cam I'm about to drop in and some proper tuning.

Re: 2005 civic Si after market parts?

You said 1.7L so i'm assuming your in Canada - the Canadian 2005 Si is the same as the U.S 2005 EX for whatever reason. So you could try to look for parts for 01-05 EX model on U.S sites.

And go for an exhaust before an intake. Intakes are for the most part a scam; all they do is make the car sound better and engine bay look better. Other than that you wont get any power gains from an intake unless your in Wide Open Throttle (pedal on the floor) or you have a custom set-up going right up to your grille so its actually getting cold air. Thats my 2 cents
