What to do. HELP, NEED SOME ADVICE!

I have a 2001 honda civic , almost at 140,000 automatic, i know it's known
for having transmission issues, none yet, I've always had transmission flushes
every year, I owe 3.8 k on the car.. but now it seems I need suspension work
new struts, all bushings, compliance, etc, the interior (head-liner) is starting to
fall, various dings, dents, new paint might be needed, just feel over whelmed
with all I need to invest into my car to get it how i want it, plus the fact that it's nearly 140,000 miles and KNOWN for having transmission issues has me a little nervous. Do any of you, think it's worth investing in? even for have to do
repairs like suspension, i got quoted like 1000.00 just to fix the front end, i know that's high, but realistically I think it can be done for 500 with parts..
question is, i am debating on perhaps trading it in, for a 2006 civic, or maybe even a nicer 7th gen, with black (hate my brown) interior 2004-2005.
or just fix my car.

fix what is safety issues (suspension) and if you don't feel like doing yourself, sell. safety ones could drop the price. did you get any hint from the car that they needed maintenance before now? like noises or such? someof the issues might have given hints before they happened, i guess, and fixed before so many of them accumulated...
