on the o2 defouler, part with external threads screws into the header and the sensor screws into the defouler, if this is correct then what is the nut for?

Its to tighten the defouler to the bung, if you just spin the defouler around it might not point in the direction you want the wires to go, so the nut is there so you can tighten it down once you get the defouler pointed in the direction you want.
And it only goes into the manifold if you have a dx/lx manifold with the cat bungs in it... mostly it should be in the downpipe or test pipe. Read my exhaust faq.

i looked through it but couldn't really understand what it was saying for the install...i have the megan racing angled defouler by the way. basically i screw in the defouler but leave the nut on there, that way i can angle the defouler the way it needs to be and then use the nut to tighten it down therefore leavin it in the position i want, thats what i got from reading through...hope thats right. thanks for the help

I purchased a Megan Racing exhaust system for my 02 si and check engine light came on the same day. Drove for quit a while like this and then bought a defouler and new O2 sensor then had the check engine light reset. The next day, the car started to chug during acceleration in all gears until about 70 MPH. I bought the sensor from a dealership and defouler from civic racing I believe. What else do I need to do to reset the check engine light (it's on again) and fix my acceleration problem? I know I need to have it connected to a computer again. Thanks
