What else can cause front end noise?

I have a 2004 Civic and have noises coming from the front end. I inspected everything and found several worn parts.
So far I've replaced:

complete strut assembly all around
Front lower control arms
Ball joints
Sway bar end links
Outer tie rod ends

Still getting a metallic rattle over rough road.
The wheel bearings seemed fine and the CV axles appear to be in good shape no leaks or tears.

What else can cause noise in the front that I should look at? Thanks in advance

Did the strut assemblies come with new strut mounts? The bearings can wear and make a rattle sound over bumps. Also make sure your end links are nice and tight.

Re: What else can cause front end noise?

did you also replace these bushings on the swaybar? these are a common cause of your issue that is often overlooked by most people.

Re: What else can cause front end noise?

I put a set of quick struts on something older a while back.......found that someone at Monroe never tightened the big nut in the middle of the strut cap

I frequently see replacement sway bar links with loose nuts, someone never got them tight enough when installed.

Might just want to check the subframe bolts, then all the engine mounts.

Radiator / battery / hood all can make noises...

Re: What else can cause front end noise?

i had a mysterious flapping noise. it was a zip-tie that got in the way of the radiator fan.

I had a mysterious clank. Ended up being a cracked control arm...

i had a mysterious clunk in the back of the car during acceleration or braking - it was a coke glass bottle under the seat that previous owner forgot there...

in other words, could be a lot of things. lots of stuff in the front of a FWD car...

brake shields?

Re: What else can cause front end noise?

I had a chance to lift the car and go over it again and I found one of the wheel bearings to be bad. There's a small amount of play that either wasn't there before or I just assumed it was caused by the ball joint. Thanks everyone for the help. I'll be back if a new wheel bearing doesn't fix it.
