2002 EX fuel door issue
I recently had the notorious "fuel door won't open" issue. I ordered the part that many have suggested from fueldoorfix.com and installed it over the weekend. However, this part didn't fix my problem. I can't tell for sure, but there might be some slack with the plunger at the fuel door.
Has anyone else run into a fuel door problem that wasn't fixed at the lever end?

I fixed mine at the lever end with a make-your-own contraption out of two worm-screw hose clamps and a nail. 
Before the fix, I removed the liner on the inside of the trunk to reveal the fuel fill door area. I was able to twist and remove the plunger that holds the fuel fill door in place to fuel up in the meantime.
Maybe the cable is binding, the plunger is loose or stuck etc.
