Rear Lights

2005 4 door SE

today i had my car running with lights on and trunk open, when i slammed my trunk shut, the two red tail lights on the trunk went out,

so i opened the trunk again and pushed the trunk up and down a few times slowly, and the same two lights go on and off as i do this, i also noticed the license plate lights go on and off at the same time,

the lights on the frame of the car are fine and work, and so does the high stop light

i guess i have a loose connection somewhere on the harness/wiring going onto the trunk lid, wondering if this is common, and where to begin looking?

Re: Rear Lights

just wanted to update.....my problem was exactly as here.....

http://ww2.justanswer.com/uploads/th...36_A08-094.pdf

spliced the wires back together and its fine.....

another related question.....

are the tail lights (red) that are on the trunk supposed to be brake lights also?

mine are lit up but do not function as brake lights, i can't remember now if they were brake lights before this problem occured

only my frame mounted lights are brake lights, is that the way it is supposed to be?

Only taillights. No brake.
