Rain problem with car paint
Hey all, I just noticed last night that my paint job on my trunk seems to be "eroded" due to the constant rain, leaving a coral effect to it.
Has anyone noticed this before, or has any ideas as to what happened?
Just so you all know my car is black in appearance the blue, white, and red is the reflection from gas station ceiling above me at the time.

Re: Rain problem with car paint
It's hard to tell from the pictures. I doubt it has anything to do with rain. Most rain issues I have heard about are either mineral deposits where the drops dry if the rain is hard or damage from acid rain which is uncommon these days.
To me it looks like damage to the clear coat. Most of the time when the clear coat wears away it looks similar to that but the patches are larger. I wonder if that area has been repainted and the clear is not very even and wearing badly.
