A/C problem

I found this forum looking up for a/c problem, but I couldn't find my answer.

My A/C started a few weeks ago to play with me. It would be cold for about 10 minutes, then outside air for a while, then back to cold. When the outstide temperature is over 22celsius, it will work for about 10 minutes, then back to outside air and never go back to cold air.

I can hear the compressor, I can switch it on/off, and I also brought it to a garage that found nothing wrong with the A/C. But since it was cold-ish that day, the A/C was working really good.

Today, I started to look around, I was told to look for the thermostat and the A/C switch, and on some forum, the evap temp sensor. I removed the evaporator temperature sensor (the easiest one to do) and did the resistance test. There is no resistance at all, its open.

Now the dumb and dumber question, can it be the evap temp sensor doing this? Its not supposed to be open (supposed to have resistance), I just find weird that the first thing I try doesn't pass the test.

Thanks.

and did the resistance test. There is no resistance at all, its open.
Since most meters aren't autoranging, I'll ask: Did you check it on every ohm scale available on your meter?

Dip it in icewater, check resistance, then dip it on hot water, see that the resistance changes...

I also brought it to a garage that found nothing wrong
Yeah, it's gotta be acting up in order to find anything wrong.

Re: A/C problem

mine has done that since I owned it.
most times its ok but when its really hot
it seems to do it most.
blow outside hot air to point midas well roll windows down
then a few minutes later ice cold again.
