02 ssm ex
2002 ex - 131,000 miles
Working on this little guy a lot lately, and cruising this site so I decided to post some pics and stuff. Recently replaced the timing belt, and accessories. So this little engine has a lot of new parts to keep it running.
Changed out the old Tokico Blues for a new set to balance the suspension out again. Used the same S-tech springs since they seemed fine. Added a touch screen and new clairon speakers. Decided to paint my VTEC solenoid, but then polished it instead. Currently looking into getting a new airbag for my type S steering wheel. Any updates will go in this thread, several more jobs yet to come.
Pics
Red insert for rear H symbol ( theft proof lol)

Genuine Honda center caps

Engine bay needs a lot of work done...

On the side im planning on repainting my DC header with ceramic paint, and ordering a new engine and fuse box cover.
Here is a buddy's car that I slammed on Megan coil-overs, then took some before and after photo's of installing his HKS exhaust.

LOL, yeah that sticks out like a sore thumb. The trunk used to have two 12" subs in a box, but it weighed a ton. Sold them, and cleared out the trunk. The trunk is actually one of the side projects planned as well.

Painted rear drums. The passenger side needed some muscle, the drivers side came right off

About what I expected behind the drum, black filth from the depths of Mordor. Used brake cleaner and wiped them down. Nasty.

Yep, that paint is great. Never did remove those brackets etc. after installing the cai. Maybe loose a couple ounces of weight.
Decided to get these Pioneer speakers for the door panels.

Re: 02 ssm ex
I thought the same thing! Installed them correctly with L and R markings. Guess it does not matter. Could be the manufacturer.

Re: 02 ssm ex
The speakers are replacing a set of Clairon's currently in the car. Mentioned them in the first post...
As far as the rotors go, Powerslot rotors. They are very old and at this point, might as well replace them. Thanks for the input though!

Re: 02 ssm ex
So after 130k, the door panels are ready to be replaced.
They have been removed so many times the metal rivets for the window seal are starting to snap off. That aside, installed the new speakers.
Airbag arrived so except for the side clip, the steering wheel is done.

Broadway mirror showed up. 270mm Convex.

Still rocking the Skunk 2 weighted shift ****. Yes...my car is dirty atm

Put these little guys in the door panels that look aged and haggard :P

Re: 02 ssm ex
I'll explain anyways. When there is directional vaining, slot/drilled pattern will always be opposite for proper structural support.

Just did not want to get into a long discussion on brakes. So, thanks for the 411 addition.

Re: 02 ssm ex
LOL! We're taking the opposite routes! That's cool.
I had the weather techs and want carpet. They are great, but I lost the front 2 and only have the rear
It is also more affordable for some reason. $69 for carpet, $40 something for all season.
Noticed it was about time to clean the headlights. They tend to get a bit yellow. Check it out, did several coats and they are still not fully clean.

Re: 02 ssm ex
It has been a few days since I have posted anything, so I'll upload some pictures.
Received a new H emblem for the type-s steering wheel. Removed the HKS exhaust, and installed a SRS cat-back exhaust system.
Got a test pipe a while back. EM2 has a full exhaust from the block to the rear of the car.
Pics posted shortly.
