Question buring oil bad!!!!

losing at least 1liter every 5 days, checked my exhaust and noticed pure black semi wet soot. what are the changes is the rings are bad or the valve seals? any advise please on what it could be or i should do thanks a bunch its a 05 si with 1.7 vtec.

they look normal a or now but before they were ash deposits cause the last guy did a head gasket but i dont think he changed the plugs.

if it is burning all that oil and not leaking it, i would bet on the valve seals

There are two main problems that can cause an engine to burn oil, bad rings and bad valve stem seals. Rings usually cause smoke under acceleration and valve stem seals under deceleration.

I would check the plugs again. If you have an oily wet soot in the exhaust pipe I don't think you could be pulling that much oil past the rings without fowling the plugs. If the exhaust valve seals are the problem you could have oil in the exhaust pipe without fouling the plugs. I have never seen an engine burn that amount of oil due to valve stem seals but it may be possible.
