Disable auto locking

I have a 2001 EX Civic and the auto door locking has been driving me crazy for years. I am talking both about auto-locking when stopped (and my does it EVEN when the door is open!) and auto locking when driving.

I've done lots of Google searching and tried the "put the key in and take it out three times within a short time" method and it didn't work.

There is also NOTHING in my manual about disabling the auto locking.

Is there ANYTHING I can do to disable my auto-locking?

Thanks in advance!

The car was not equipped with auto-locks from the factory.

You could have an aftermarket unit (alarm or remotes or similar type) that has been installed to do this, it needs disabled and removed from the wiring. Probably stuffed up under the dash on the drivers side, that's the typical place to hide stuff like that. (These usually only operate the auto-locks when the ignition is turned on or off, certainly not randomly.)

If not that, then there is a unusual problem that needs taken care of.
Bad actuator, switch, wiring problem, etc., are possible.

Needs inspected and properly diagnosed.

No hes talking about the 30 sec. grace period the car gives you to open a door after hitting the unlock button on the fob....your door jamb sensor is probably broken...the door just thinks its closed all the time. Do your interior lights come on when you open the door? The same thing happened to me on the passenger side and its locked me out once or twice.

Makes sense, except for where the OP said
and auto locking when driving.
I figured this would rule out the factory keyless completely.

I could be wrong though.
