Input Shaft Bearing - Replace or Rebuild?
Input Shaft Bearing - Replace or Rebuild?
Hey guys, so I'm looking at a bad input shaft bearing in my transmission. I was wondering what you thought was the best way to handle this: Could I have a mechanic open it up, replace some bearings/seals and call it a day? Or is a complete transmission build a better bet? The car shifts super smooth and has no trouble staying in gear. Thanks for reading!
Re: Input Shaft Bearing - Replace or Rebuild?
Take it to a competent mechanic who has done Honda transmissions before and you'll be fine with just replacing the bearing. Might as well have him do the clutch, throw out bearing and re-surface the fly wheel as well. And give him some genuine Honda manual trans fluid to fill it back up with.
