Ideas for 2k2 Civic EX build?
Ideas for 2k2 Civic EX build?
So I recently got a 2002 Honda Civic EX 5spd with the VTEC d17a2, I'm new to civics and a good friend of mine has been talking to me about a build for the car. The car itself has some faults, the motor has 170k miles on it and when I got it I had to have the pressure plate resurfaced and another stock clutch put into it. I want to keep the car running through the mileage so I'm interested in engine parts and mods that will keep it running.
I've intended on minor work to start with and I intend on ordering the
-NGK long life laser iridium spark plugs
first along with the
-Polished AEM Short Ram Intake.
Before I go ahead and buy the Crower cam im interested in details on other parts and modifications I can do for better engine life & performance. Speed is less of a concern to me but money is not too much of an issue. Please and thank you!

i would search the forums....everything you seek is on here.
as for "power," the civic has none. bolt on mods wont do anything....sorry to burst ur bubble.
the ONLY way to gain any significant power is to engine swap it or boost it. everything else is just a waste of money in regards of power. (unless you have very deep pockets)
our cars are pretty light and they perform well in the handling department. money spent on suspension is one of the most worthwhile mods.

You mean flywheel?
Order the plugs from the dealer, its well worth it it my opinion since you cant gap irridiums.
Outside of sound a cold air wont do much if anything.
Need a whole sperate computer for that.

Well I've had the car for 1k miles so far and it drives great. Power isn't as much of a concern because I'm going to buy a new block and start from scratch to swap it. The guy who said you can't gap iridiums you shouldn't post anymore in my forum please because I gapped my plugs myself. Still waiting on the intake, but I've noticed a few weird clicks at the top of first and the bottom of second gear? Any ideas what they would be? It's a clicking noise from beneath the front of the car and it's only on occasions. Also is a new/tuned differential a worthwhile modification? Please and thanks everyone
