i have an 04 civic vp auto maintained well under my owner ship its at 118k i got it at 103k and i get 27-30 mpg consistently on windy roads for the most part not too much high way driving. i have an intake and an exhaust and those didnt change anything really when i got them should i be getting better mileage?

change the oil
flush the transmission
change spark plugs
clean the intake filter
make sure tires are good with proper PSI
get an alignment
clean injectors
clean IAC valve
clean EGR valve
replace your primary oxygen sensor thats a big one
and most important if you want better MPG drive like a granny.slowly accelerate,obey the speed limit and brake smoothly

you're prob on the lower end of the mpg spectrum.

you prob have a heavy foot but dont knwo about it. my friends who has a 03civic SWEARS im crazy when i criticize his heavy foot... i see it every time he blasts it off the line... but yet he still denies it.

i am heavy footed...
but most folks steps on the gas on downhills and lifts gas on uphills. completely wrong.
when in downhill, leave the gas pedal off and that will make fuel cut - you don't lose too much speed and no fuel is spent until you step on gas again.
if you don't step on gas uphills, you lose too much momentum and needs to step on gas when you should leave it.
30-33 MPG HWY-CTY, instantly.

most don't understand that MPG is keeping momentum.

just did the trans flush change oil every 3-5k just did the plugs brand new intake so filter shouldnt be dirty and tires are good but i'll check out the rest definitely
