g2 mirrors

well i got my mirrors...figured it would be a pretty simple install. but i popped the cover off the opposite side of the mirror and i see 4 nuts...the diy i saw said there was only 3. 3 are 10mm and the one is around an 8mm. also the diy said it wasnt neccesary to remove the door panel to get to the bolts. unless im missing something it looks like the bottom 2 i MAY be able to get off...but as soon as i do they will fall off the bolt and into the door panel. anyone know for sure?

btw its a dx coupe with manual mirrors

Mines an lx but ill take a look at it when I get home and post up some pics. You should too so we can see what youre dealing with. When I had to do some wiring for my mirrors I remember 3 8mm nuts, but idk.

Re: g2 mirrors

it will be a lot easier to get to the bolts with the door panel off.. i took my mirrors off on my dx without taking the door panel off and it was a pain to get the bolts off and even more of a pain to get them back on. if i were to take them off again ill take my door panel off.

Re: g2 mirrors

I would just take the door panel of to be safe, if you drop one then your going to just have to take it off anyway.

Re: g2 mirrors

ill get out there tomorrow and take a few pics and hopefully get them on but it looks just like urs slimrisk. that bolt on the top left of your pic is the one that threw me off when i was lookin at mine. i guess that bolt doesnt actually hold the mirror on?

how hard is our door panel to get off anyways?

Crank! Who has F'ing window cranks anymore? lol
-----------

To take a window crank off (the simple way):

1. Take a rag and fold it into a triangle.

2. Grab the rag at either end of the fold you just made and pull it taut.

3. Now, work it behind the crank and use it to work the C-clip out.

Here's a drawing as an example (sorry, no skills. lol):

Works 9 out of 10 times.
