Checking the oil cold is probably the most accurate way to do so, because you can guarantee that all the oil in engine is in the pan not slowly dripping down. I believe the reason it's not the recommended procedure is that the oil is not at operating temperature and therefore of a lesser volume, despite being an equal mass. If I checked it cold I would just expect the oil to be slightly under the full line to compensate.

No, seen no oil sludge down in the hole i used just over half a bottle of mmo and drove it around for a awhile stoped by the auto store and bought some castrol synthetic i found at a great price drove it home and just finished with the oil change idles fine oil coloure is back to normal clear again thank-You for all that posted
