Exhaust pipe? what is that?
Exhaust pipe? what is that?
Well since i heard latelly that my cat was right on my headers(right after i believe) i was wondering, what the hell that thing under my car :O its right after where my resonator used to be(i removed it to install an exhaust tip) it cylindrical and i was wondering what it was :O what purpose does it server. would removing it make a difference? thanks
Re: Exhaust pipe? what is that?
You only have 3 pieces to the exhaust:
1. the manifold/cat
2. down-pipe
3. muffler
The down-pipe is just a "straight" pipe to the muffler.
EDIT: These will tell you exactly what you should have.
manifold: http://www.hondapartscheap.com/south...t=0&quantity=0
Everything downstream from there: http://www.hondapartscheap.com/south...t=0&quantity=0

Re: Exhaust pipe? what is that?

cause i really dont wana get rid of my cat :O just makin sure :P
no cat = no back pressure...and that doesnt sound right XD

Re: Exhaust pipe? what is that?
The only thing there would be a resonator, like stated above. It performs the same action as the muffler- to muffle the exhaust noise. Go ahead and straight pipe it. My EX has the manifold, cat, straight pipe, muffler (aftermarket) and it's hella loud. It gets annoying after a couple of hours but, I don't even notice it driving around town.
