Replacing the AC pulley
Re: Replacing the AC pulley
So its not the pulley we replace but the bearing? Where is this pulley, is it in the serpetine belt area?
Whats the best way to tell if its the pulley or the bearing making this sqealing sound with the ac on? I already replaced my serpentine belt.

Re: Replacing the AC pulley
pop the belt off and spin the pulley by hand, it should turn freely and smoothly, if it doesn't that's likely the source of your trouble.
your belt may also just need to be tightened.
your belt may also just need to be tightened.

Re: Replacing the AC pulley
The pulley is always turning it's just under more load when the ac is on, the ac compressor has a clutch that engages and disengages when you turn on ac on and off, just like how your transmission can be in gear or neutral.
in short, yes it can still be the ac pulley.

Is it possible to check it or even replace it by hoisting the car instead of having to remove the pump, alt, etc.
And also where is the catalac convertor located? need to check if the cover is lose.
