Would you believe this. My 2002 Civic w/28K original miles now needs a crankshaft position sensor. $350 worth to get it going. Barely would reach 20mph with the pedal to the floor as well as shaking a bit. I think there are too many sensors on these cars and they all see to be too expensive to replace if you can't do it yourself.

dam that must be stealership price i have seen them for less then $100 dollars even less then $50 dollars.

$85 bucks shipped stateside. Getting in there does suck a bit though. It involves taking off the PS and Alternator belts, valve cover, driver side motor mount, crank pulley, upper and lower timing belt cover, just to get to that sensor. It's more or less the process of getting to the timing belt.

Ya i got mine changed when i did my belts. Mech said I should since its a high mileage car and easier to do it now then later just in case.

Not something I would want to do myself. Looks like lots of labor so I understand why the cost is so high. Its just BS that stuff like this should happen especially to a low mileage vehicle. Like what's next yet to come?!
