Driver Side Light is out :/

Okay so not sure if u kno but i retrofitted my headlights a couple days ago. When we first put the headlights in and turned the lights on nothing would happen and the fuse kept blowing, soon realized that it was because when we were making the wiring harness (we as in me and Shift-E) we accidentally put a ground and a power wire in the same heat shrink (opps!). We soon figured out the problem and cut / saudered the wires properly.

The drivers side headlight has worked fine up until last night. They were working at on point last night, but for some reason the driver side is out now. The headlight assembly was pretty loose so you could easily wiggle around the chrome part on the inside, maybe something broke from the bumps in the road but the driver's light is out now.

I'll check soon whether it was wiring or hardware problem, hopefully it's not my ballast or bulb. Anyone hve any ideas what the problem could be or how i could check if the ballast or whatever is broken?

Re: Driver Side Light is out :/

It could be a loose wire, check all your wiring, then pull out the bulb to make sure it's not burnt

If everything checks out, swap the drivers/passenger bulbs to make sure that it is the ballast and not the bulb

Re: Driver Side Light is out :/

Well i would have taken those steps but last night i was in a parking lot and thought i'd turn my lights on for the hell of it. The Passenger side went on right away but nothing came out of the drivers side ... 5 seconds later, there's light! I haven't had a problem with it since, but at least i know now that it isn't the ballast or the bulb. Thanks for your suggestion, i guess i'll have to check my wiring again :/

Re: Driver Side Light is out :/

Sounds to me like a loose wire, id check the clip near the ballast, that typically gives me problems on my dad's volvo

Re: Driver Side Light is out :/

Check your ground wires.

That was my problem with my passenger light.

Cleaned it up and it was good.
