No its like the wingman like hard plastic that goes over your hood tip. I had to take mine off as it cracked. Been going naked for the past 2 months now.
I prefer the look without it too but probably gonna pick up another if i can find a clear or silver one. HAd a massive rock hit my hood last week and left a good size paint chip on my hood. Had to touch it up with touch up paint. Not too happy about that. I bet if i had my rock deflector on, it never would have happened.

I'm sure they do a good job, from what I have heard, but I dont think I could stand it.
that sux about the paint chip.. i know how ya feel. i need a new windsheild bad. one day the crack was about as wide as a dime, then over about 2 weeks, it made this light "pop" noise when i was drivin and bam. alllll the way across to the other side. ugh, hate it. ill get it fixed one day.
