On a k20a3 a head swap is a must, that's the big weak point, but the bottom end isn't all that much different and the insurance is less than a type-s.
Premium RSX and EP3 have a k20a3.
DC5-S has a k20a2.
ITR has a b18c5.
The biggest advantage to an B-series engine is you can make power for way less than on a k-series; neptune costs $150 to tune a b-series with and is better than k-pro that costs $1700 with a new ECU.

DC5 is the body code for an RSX, like an EM2 is the coupe body code for 7th gens.
A 2002-2006 base RSX has a k20a3
A 2002-2004 Type-S RSX has a k20a2
a 2005-2006 Type-S RSX has a K20z1
A 2006-2011 Civic Si has a k20z3
An Integra type-r is an older car, they were sold in North America from 1997-2001 with the exception of 1999. They sell for about the same price range as you sold your civic for though and they're truly amazing, I would seriously look into them if you don't mind driving a 10 year old car.

just finding a 2000 prelude is hard enough let alone condition, miles etc I really like the rsx but I have a feeling there is something better to be had for the money..thus far I'm still at a stand still. I'm in 32833 zipcode if you know of any good cars for 10-13k

I like the prelude more than I like the Type-S ... just sayin'. You will put a lot more money into maintaining it though... I'm partial to the H22 tho since I swapped one into a 92 accord.. that car was fast as hell

i would go with a rsx type-s 05-06 personaly i am planing on gettin one but also keeping my es2 as well, just cant justify selling it bc im not going to get nearly what i put into it so ill just hold onto it and get a fun car and keep the es2 as my family car. so if your set on the rsx like i am (i just love how sexy they look) then get it i cant see y youd regret it so y not
