So I bought this car last Sept. and the trunk was really out of alignment.
So for free, one of the guys improved the angles, but it's not perfect.

I assume the previous owner over-stuffed or wasn't aware of the hinges with a full trunk before closing it.

Here's what I'm left with.

I was thinking of picking up hinges from a used Civic and replacing the these ones in hopes it would re-align the trunk to factory position. Or at least improve what I have.

What do you guys think my options are here.

^trunk adjustment. I have the exact same issue in the exact same spot. My subs make the trunk rattle its annoying. I havent had time to do it but I hope it helps.

What do I do for trunk lid height, primarily on the driver side.

you can turn the two rubber stoppers (C) in or out so the lid sits lower or higher. dont unscrew too much or it will fall out.

Those are all ready tightened in as far as they turn.

Nobody really does notice it unless I point it out. It's just one of those things that bother me, especially since I'll be mounting a spoiler on it soon.
I'm heading to the scrap yard tomorrow to pick up an RSX Type-S rear sway, will look around for hinges from another EM2.
Will need to research on how to remove hatches safetly. I take rear deck off and two bolts on each side from the top, plus the ones that attach to the lid. The tension arms or whatever have me a bit worried.

Just wanted to add. Found a nice write-up on how to use vise-grips to remove springs without the special trunk spring tool.

LOL, yes it is.
Today I used vise-grips on the trunk spring to see if it works, yep, no problems, has about a 90* twist worth of tension. This is when the trunk fell onto my back..haha, it didn't hurt but I wasn't expecting it to fall by only taking one side out. I know for next time to use something to prop it up.
Drive 20km to scrap yard with RSX sway and Civic hinges, closed, I got there at 10:30 and buddy told me yesterday they were opened until 12pm today. Bastards.

Anyways, with my existing hinges I adjusted just about everything, including putting a shim between the driver-side hinge and rear deck to essentially lower the trunk even. Everything else was loosened and massaged into place with a rubber mallet.
So for free it turned out really good, IMO.

I think with a spoiler on there now, it'll look perfect.
I guess I may need to upgrade my springs with the added weight, we'll see.

PS: You don't even have to touch the trunk springs to adjust the trunk. I was just doing a practice test in case I needed to replace the hinges, then I would have had to remove the springs.

What I did is use an x-acto blade to lengthen the spiral on the rubber stopper so that I could turn it in more to drop the trunk lid.
