Re: Bodywork in progress

hmm its not bad but im actually in the auto body field and thats totally the wrong way but its the cheapest so i guess whatever works. it looks nice but it would be alot better if you remove the paint in the area and then pull the dents(the best you can) then apply fiberglass filler sand that down apply regular body filler and it runs alot smoother and it works alot better in the long run just my 2 cents

Re: Bodywork in progress

a write up on how to do body work would be a nightmare, it is like an art to get it right without getting frustrated, so i'll stick with mechanical or the car will end up having more dents before i was finished

Re: Bodywork in progress

The slide hammer you insert into the hole and use the free-floating handle to slide and ram against the stationary handle, the hammer as a whole. The pull hooks you just stick in and pull out manually. Brute force. lol no cheesy jokes please

Re: Bodywork in progress

lmfao! haha. Good to know man. I'll have to look around for some of those tools. I have hammers and dollies only but am pretty sure that those are overkill for this job.

Re: Bodywork in progress

Looks damn good!!! Props for that ****!!
I only do MC 'body' work, cause its tedious as hell, like you said.

And did you have the whole car painted? Masked and everything? Or just the spots needed or an overspray? If it was just the spots, did it blend nice? Either way, from the pics its top notch!!

Same thing happened to me at school. $1300 for a repair. Thank goodness I had insurance and a cheap deductible!

Re: Bodywork in progress

It did suck. Parts were $300 (Bumper, tail light, and badges). Paint was $300, labor $300 and paint labor $300. The trunk was dented in on the bottom and had to be bent back and painted. That was the most expensive part.

It sucks that there are bastards that do this kind of stuff and don't leave a note or anything. Going to a school with 40,000 people, its kinda hard to look for the car that did it too.
