I know a little bit about the idea, i just want to know what you guys think. I have a set of 17" chrome motegi rims that i want black. Should i have them powder coated black for 75 bucks a rim from a really good pc buisness, or bead blast the chrome off with a sand blaster then just paint them black my self. These rims are in good condition, there is zero chrome chipping or anything. is it possible to just paint over the chrome.

yeah duplicolor metalcast line of paints are made for chrome surfaces. they have alot of colors including smoke and you spray directly onto chrome. its a translucent type paint so it still looks shiny, just a different color. if you want black chrome, get vht niteshades tint spray. dont forget to clear coat them when youre done with a professional grade clear coat. it should last as long as the car paint.
