may want to search around the turbo/forced induction section of the forum, lots of useful info regarding turbo builds.

Idealy, it'd be better to mod a lower mileage motor.
300hp is a lot. From what I've seen done, sleeves on the cylinders are a waste of money, along with a block guard.
You will probably want to get some headwork done- aka a port and polish along with the 3 degree angle valve job.
You can build the internals of the motor up and go really crazy, but unless you got hella money to spend, I would just start off with a decent turbo kit and then upgrade pistons and rods and valves later on down the road if you do want more power.
Where people skimp on is tuning. Get kpro and a good tuner- dont try to do any tuning on a turbo car with a vafc2 or a piggie back.

Ive got somewhere around $4k+ in my kit that i put together( to scared to add it all up when i did the build) And to this day its been issue free , short of one transmission that grenaded! But i built mine using quality parts and didnt really skimp on one single item! And i took my time and did TONS of research on each and every item. The key to most systems is the tuning! Get it right or get ready for lots of problems! Like gearbox said above , check out the boosted sub forum section!
